i love love love the look of these brown binders from rebinder. the black spine is super chic and would look stylish in any board meeting. you can also get custom binders printed (see the kiehl’s and dooney & bourke examples above). they’re also crazy eco-friendly. made from recycled cardboard and chipboard, these binders will make you feel like an environmental badass.

there are certain items in our home that no matter how hard we try and hide them, they stick out like a sore thumb. work-out equipment is one of those categories that has odd shaped items; think exercise balls, yoga mats and weights. not only are they awkward, they’re usually ugly to boot. one solution—work out at the gym. or hide the lot at the bottom of the nearest closet. but my favorite idea—incorporate weights like the menu dumbbells (pictured) that are not only functional, they’re pretty to look at. use them as a door stop, work of art or mantelpiece decoration. whatever you use them for, i think it’s a safe bet that you won’t find them stored away—which might just inspire you to use them.

i enjoy the challenge of packing light so when it comes to jewelry, i typically leave my baubles at home. i’m pretty minimal when it comes to jewelry so it’s easy enough to pick my favorite pieces to wear on the plane and i’m set for any adventure. but if i had to take extra options, it’d be easy enough with these stylish organizers. inside you’ll find two zip pockets, a ring roll, and snap closures on each end to prevent necklace tangling. do you travel with jewelry? do you pack in your checked bag or board plane with your gems? and what are your favorite organizers to transport them?

if you subscribe to my monthly newsletter or hang out with bneato on FB, you’ll know that one of my 2012 goals is to lose weight (and maintain once i get there) . in 2011, i scored a rad running partner who keeps me accountable 2x a week and we’ve been running consistently since october. lately i’ve amped up my running (going solo on some days) as a nod to getting healthier and fitter (skinny jeans be damned). so when my friend and band cohort who affectionately answers to ‘pagi’ told me about a free app from nike that kicked her butt—i was all ears. since i don’t own an iPhone, i turned to my iPad to download the NTC app. yesterday, i sweated my way through their ’15 minute better butt’ workout and i think i may be hooked. i will tell you that this app will not replace my running buddy or my exercise boot camp that i attend. for me, the NTC app will be amazing for those days that i don’t feel like leaving the house but still want to feel like i made time to work-out. if you try it out, let me know what you think!

one of my secret weapons for keeping the car neat and clean are wet wipes. they are perfect for repelling dust and dirt on the console + dash and since we angelinos practically live out of our cars, wet wipes tend to be life savors for just about any mishap. so when i spotted this luxurious trio of wipes over on motif, i had to share. at $1.99/pack, it will be easy to save the day in style. look for them at target or get them shipped to your front door.

um. ultimate confession alert. so we’ve needed to replace our cloth napkins for about… forever. yep, i’d say forever is the appropriate length of time that i have waited to buy new cloth napkins. all of our old ones are now used for pet mishaps and cleanups. and we don’t use paper towels so you can see how this is a problem. thank god i found my drap. perforated napkins on a roll. on a roll PEOPLE! they come in 19 different colors to choose from but i’m digging this sea blue. depending on what size napkins you buy, the amount of napkins on the roll differs. for the dinner napkin, 12 come on a roll. a cocktail napkin roll has 50. and for around $25/roll, i’d say i’ve found myself one helluva deal that is super cool to boot. now go have fun tearing them off the roll… i know i will.

when i’m helping clients declutter and organize their office spaces, one of the categories that is usually overflowing are run-of the-mill office pens. only you can determine what a reasonable number of pens is to own but i would suggest no more than 10. #srsly. and i think i’ve found my next purchase for when my pens are all dried up and no longer work…. the 7 year pen. apparently it packs an uber sized ink cartridge that can write for 7+ years (insane). the styles are adorable, they would make a great gift for a friend—or display one at your own desk. the rest of the lot can be found here and for only $7.50, i’d say the 7 year pen is a steal of a deal.

i love love love the way ondine karady solves the challenge of storing items in this small space while leaving room for the essentials. her solution? floating storage. something that most of us probably wouldn’t think to do but once seen in action, it’s something to consider. in this instance, she puts to besta burs wall shelves from IKEA to task. not only do they offer extra storage, their glossy white finish pops from the bright wall which only adds texture and a chic vibe to the space.
